I’m working away steadily at changing my habits.
One habit I seem to have finally crushed is the addiction to Pepsi Max. I had got to the stage where I practically didn’t drink anything else. Not good.
I haven’t drunk it for weeks, apart from half a glass on the weekend. And you know what? I didn’t enjoy it.
These days I’m drinking either tea or soda water with a lemon slice / spritz of lemon. It is tastier, cheaper and better for me. I have hope that my addiction to Pepsi Max is at an end.
I’m also eating fruit again. I’m not wild about apples, but I’ve been eating mandarins and bananas, and I enjoy both. Summer is coming on, and I’m also looking forward to summer fruit – stone fruit and berries. Yum.
All the food plans in OA seem to have breakfast included, but I’m not really a breakfast person. So I’ve bumped the protein back to dinner, and I’ll just eat a piece of fruit for morning tea. Hopefully that will work.
My husband and I are just about to plant fruit trees. So hopefully it won’t be long until I’m eating my own, home grown fruit.
So yes, I’m killing off the bad habits.
Another bad habit I’m in the process of killing is my habit of eating in the evenings in front of the TV. Not good. I’m working on getting to three meals a day with no snacks. That’s the goal.
I’m also working on eliminating sugar and processed carbs from my diet altogether. That’s hard work. That includes junk food, cakes and biscuits.
Finally, I’m building up the amount of veggies I eat. I used to be a big vegetable eater, but lately not so much. I need to work on that. And I am.
So that’s where I’m at. I’m feeling happier too.
